About The Project

Students on the Multimedia Technology and Design course, run by the Department of Electronics at the University of Kent are required to undertake a project whilst completing their final year.  The project can be an individual or group piece and must be completed by the 31st March 2006.

The team worked together successfully in their second year and decided that to produce the best possible results a group project was the best way to progress.  Having completed a documentary about the 40th anniversary of the University in their second year the group knew that they were competent film makers.  After analysing the skills of each of the team members it became obvious that each contributor held vastly different skill sets, the challenge was to come up with a proposal that would merge all of their abilities.

The concept of a virtual city was one of the first that was suggested by the team and from then the project grew into the aims and objectives that we have today.

Aims:

  • To produce a short film using techniques we have learnt from this course
  • To create an environment in which each team member can exploit their skills on the platform they choose

Objectives:

  • To create an interactive DVD telling an interesting story and showcasing our skills in 3D animation, 2D graphics and live action filming

What we will produce:
